Ahmed Almusawi is an Omani composer, producer, engineer, entrepreneur and technology innovator working across music, sound, culture and creative technology.
He is the founder of ASamplesX, AStudioX and the wider Almusawi International ecosystem, bringing together music production, software, digital instruments, cultural technology and future hardware development.
For Ahmed, these fields have never been separate.

He has spent his career moving between the creative and technical sides of sound — writing music, recording musicians, mixing productions, designing sounds, building studios, developing systems and, increasingly, creating the software and technology behind the tools themselves.
Over more than two decades of professional work, Ahmed has completed well over 1,000 projects across composition, production, recording, mixing, sound design, television, advertising, cinematic and orchestral music, government work, institutional projects and major cultural productions.
But what makes his background particularly relevant to ASamplesX is the breadth of that experience.

Engineering
His technical experience extends well beyond software.
He has been creating and modifying his own sounds since the beginning of his musical career and has worked with computer-based music since the mid-to-late 1990s.
Ahmed has extensive practical knowledge of recording systems, microphones, signal flow, routing, monitoring, audio electronics and professional studio infrastructure.
He has also designed, developed and helped build numerous professional recording environments in Oman, including major studios and facilities for government organisations, with hands-on experience in studio design, acoustics, acoustic treatment and sound isolation.
The mindset
Why does this limitation exist — and can we build something better?
That combination of music, engineering and problem-solving naturally led toward programming and product development.
Ahmed has always been an entrepreneur and builder at heart. Rather than only asking which existing tool could solve a problem, he has often approached things differently.
That mindset became central to ASamplesX.
Oman and the Gulf
Complete musical languages, not a generic sound.
At the heart of the company is also Ahmed’s deep connection to Oman and the musical cultures of the Arabian Gulf.
As a composer, he experienced first-hand how difficult it could be to find modern tools that represented these traditions with real depth — not simply as a generic “Middle Eastern” sound, but as complete musical languages with their own rhythms, instruments, maqamat, articulations, phrasing and performance behaviour.
His experience as an engineer and sound designer also showed him that authenticity requires much more than recording the correct instrument.
You have to understand what should be recorded, who should perform it, how it should be played, why it is performed that way, how the sound should be captured and how another musician will eventually interact with it.
That combination of musicianship, engineering, cultural knowledge and technology became one of the foundations of ASamplesX.
The goal
Not simply to reproduce the past.
It is to make these musical languages accessible to composers, producers, musicians and developers around the world — giving them authentic tools and enough creative freedom to take the music somewhere new.
Ahmed’s professional journey began in 2001, built on years of experimentation with computer music and sound before that. Across the decades that followed, composition, engineering, studio development, entrepreneurship and technology gradually converged into the ideas behind ASamplesX.
Heritage does not stay alive by standing still. It stays alive when people experience it, understand it, play it, transform it and create something new with it.
